The World Economic Forum will hold its 15th Annual Meeting of the New Champions from June 25 to 27, 2024, in Dalian, China. According to the latest forecast by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the global economy is on track for a soft landing—setting the stage for this year’s gathering. Only through effective collaboration can we unlock new frontiers for future growth.
This year's annual conference, themed "The New Frontier of Future Growth," will bring together over 1,500 global leaders from government, business, civil society, international organizations, academia, and the media. The event will focus on innovative models for boosting the economy, with a particular emphasis on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.
Asia continues to drive two-thirds of global economic growth, bringing together industry leaders who will seize collaboration opportunities to advance and sustain the positive momentum of economic development.
"New technologies are continuously propelling the world rapidly into the intelligent era, and this transformation requires innovative economic and business policy models to support it. The Annual Meeting of the New Champions serves as an excellent platform for identifying opportunities and shaping global cooperation mechanisms—aiming to build a better future for all humanity," said Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum.
Through action-oriented discussions, this year’s conference will empower global leaders to fully harness the potential of technology in driving productivity, fostering economic growth, and accelerating the energy transition. Participants will develop human-centered strategies to navigate evolving industry trends, while also stepping up efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality and building a nature-positive future. Meanwhile, the conference agenda will deepen attendees’ understanding of long-term development trends in China and Asian markets.
This year's conference agenda is built around six key themes: the Global New Economy, China and the World, Entrepreneurial Spirit in the Age of AI, Emerging Frontiers in Industry, Investing in People, and the Interconnected Challenges of Climate, Nature, and Energy.
"At this year's annual meeting, participants of the forum will not only gain the latest insights into economic and industry trends but also have the opportunity to engage in discussions with their peers—and contribute to advancing a range of critical issues through various initiatives launched by the World Economic Forum," said Chen Liming, Chairman of the World Economic Forum for Greater China.
This year's annual meeting will build on the success of the 2023 New Champions Annual Meeting, further expanding its global impact. Last year, global leaders gathered to reflect on and discuss the complex, interconnected challenges that have emerged over the past few years, jointly proposing solutions aimed at shaping a future that is more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient.
Media representatives are invited to attend this in-person meeting. Several sessions of the annual forum will be live-streamed publicly on the forum website, social media platforms, and the digital app TopLink, offering both the forum’s digital membership community and the general public a chance to join the discussions.
