On April 13, CGTN’s The Agenda interviewed Kiva Allgood, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum’s Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains, to explore the circular economy in the electric vehicle industry. As the push toward net-zero emissions becomes increasingly urgent and demand for EVs continues to soar, consumers will ultimately shape the direction of the market. Kiva Allgood emphasized that businesses have numerous opportunities to build sustainable supply chains—but the real challenge lies in ensuring the use of clean, renewable electricity. Currently, China is leading the way in battery-recycling innovation and boasts a significant lead in EV adoption rates, demonstrating its strong commitment to environmental responsibility. To stay ahead, companies must actively attract and retain top talent, drive innovation in sustainable raw-material production, and relentlessly pursue supply-chain transformation.

On April 15, 2024, Tian Chengchuan, Director of the Center for International Cooperation and Exchange at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, met with Mr. Jack Hurd, Member of the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum and Executive Director of the Tropical Rainforest Alliance, in Beijing.
