The 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, part of the World Economic Forum, will be held in Tianjin, China, from June 24 to 26, 2025. The event takes place at a critical juncture as the global economy undergoes a fundamental transformation, with geopolitics, technology, sustainability, and demographic shifts reshaping traditional engines of growth. Amidst ongoing sluggish global economic growth—projected at just 3.3% for both 2025 and 2026—the need for innovative solutions and new value-creation drivers has never been more urgent on the global stage.

This conference, themed "Entrepreneurial Spirit in the New Era," will bring together over 1,500 leaders from government, the business community, academia, social organizations, international bodies, the innovation ecosystem, and the media—everyone coming together to explore entrepreneurial solutions tailored for the next-generation economy.

Asia is expected to account for nearly 60% of global GDP growth by 2025. In this context, hosting this year's conference in Asia will help foster entrepreneurial thinking, enabling leaders to strike a balance between the short-term challenges posed by rapid innovation and the long-term risks and opportunities it brings.

Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum, said: "The world is undergoing profound transformation and facing unprecedented uncertainty, with fundamental economic pressures compelling global leaders to act urgently and seek innovative solutions that align with pressing economic priorities. Now more than ever, global leaders must collaborate to seize the opportunities this era presents—and jointly develop cutting-edge strategies that address the evolving geopolitical and economic landscape. After all, entrepreneurship and innovation must remain at the heart of our response to an age of rapid change.

To achieve this goal, this year's conference agenda will focus on five key themes: Decoding the Global Economy, China Perspectives, Industries in Times of Transformation, Investing in People and the Planet, and New Energy & Materials.

Mirek Dušek, Executive Director of the World Economic Forum, said: "This year's conference will serve as a catalyst for fostering forward-thinking dialogue, nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets, driving innovative solutions, and unlocking new sources of growth.

Since 2007, the New Champions Annual Meeting, also known as the "Summer Davos," has become Asia's premier global gathering of leaders. As a key annual milestone within the World Economic Forum’s ongoing initiatives, the event brings together leaders from across industries to jointly drive responsible sectoral transformations and foster global progress.
